Anant Raut
Counsel
Anant Raut is Counsel at Zaiger Linden Roberti & Pepe LLC, where his practice focuses on litigation, competition counseling, and competition policy strategy.
Before joining the firm, Anant served as Global Head of Competition Policy at Meta. He previously held senior legal and policy roles across the U.S. government. On Capitol Hill, he served as Counsel to both the Democratic Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and the Democratic Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he played a key role in drafting and securing bipartisan support for landmark legislation including the Affordable Care Act, Dodd-Frank, the Music Modernization Act, ACPERA reauthorization, the SUCCESS Act, and the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act.
Anant began his legal career at the Federal Trade Commission and was later appointed by President Obama to serve as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ Antitrust Division, where he advised on half of the Division’s civil docket. During the Obama administration, he also served as an advisor to the Office of Vice President Biden and the National Economic Council, and was detailed to the DOJ Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties.
In addition to his public service, Anant previously practiced as a litigator at a prominent international law firm. He has also served as an external advisor to the National Institute of Standards and Technology on the development of a risk management framework for generative AI, and as a visiting fellow at the nonprofit Public Knowledge. Anant also previously served on the Harris-Walz transition team.
