ZLRP Welcomes Rich Snyder as Partner
Washington, DC – Zaiger Linden Roberti & Pepe LLP is delighted to announce that Rich Snyder has joined the firm as a Partner. With more than two decades of experience, Rich brings deep expertise in global antitrust investigations, litigation, and mergers.
“I’m thrilled to be joining ZLRP’s growing antitrust and competition team,” Snyder said. “The sky is the limit.”
“I’ve been working alongside Rich, including for the same client over the years, and I’m very excited to have him as my partner,” said Founding Partner John Roberti.
Rich's arrival further strengthens ZLRP’s litigation team, especially in antitrust, consumer protection, and civil litigation. He is the third dedicated antitrust lawyer to join the firm following Anant Raut’s arrival earlier this year.
Rich’s passion for antitrust began during his time at the Federal Trade Commission following his first year at The University of Chicago Law School. He then joined Arnold & Porter's antitrust practice for three years before another seventeen years in the Freshfields Antitrust, Competition, and Trade practice. He joined Mayer Brown as a Partner in 2023.
Rich’s practice covers all areas of antitrust:
Investigations. Over the years, Rich has defended clients in numerous global cartel investigations, including marine hose, auto parts, CRT, air cargo, and FX.
Litigation. Rich is known for his creative and strategic thinking as an antitrust litigator. Rich knows the antitrust litigation playbook backward and forward but is not tethered to it.
Mergers. Rich has worked on more than a dozen Second Requests or Phase 2 investigations. He brings a deep understanding of how to proceed with enforcers in substantively and procedurally complex mergers.
Client Counseling. Rich works with clients to ensure they comply with antitrust laws and that they are protected from illegal practices or anticompetitive transactions.
Rich’s practice spans media, consumer products, and healthcare. He has served as counsel to Hachette Book Group since 2010 and represented Anheuser-Busch InBev in securing merger control approvals across the Western Hemisphere for its acquisition of SABMiller.
Who’s Who Legal Competition named Rich “a star at the competition bar” and one of the top three future leaders. One respondent praised him as “one of the best antitrust lawyers I have met,” highlighting his cross-jurisdictional expertise and client rapport.
Matters on which Rich has worked have received industry recognition, including:
GCR Merger Matter of the Year: United Airlines–Continental Airlines
GCR Behavioral Matter of the Year: U.S. v. Apple (eBooks)
GCR Merger Matter of the Year: AB InBev–SABMiller
Rich received his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, and a B.A. from Stanford University. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and before a number of district courts and courts of appeal.
